Mentone Grammar takes great pride in celebrating the success and achievements of our students.

Success has many different measures at Mentone Grammar as each student strives for different goals. Whether it is in academia, the arts, sport, service or a specialty area of interest, we celebrate when our students invest their best effort. 

Outstanding VCE Results 

Mentone Grammar has a history of outstanding VCE Results due to the collective dedication of our students and through the support of our staff. 

Class of 2016 VCE Results

  • 35% of students were placed in the top 10% in Australia with an ATAR of 90 or above
  • 59% of students were placed in the top 20% in Australia with an ATAR of 80 or above
  • The median ATAR score was 83.4
  • Dux Luc van Vliet attained an ATAR of 99.9
  • Nine ‘perfect’ study scores - Business Management (2), English, Specialist Mathematics, Mathematical Methods, Interactive Digital Media, Physics (2), Psychology.
  • 15% of students were placed in the top 5% in Australia with an ATAR of 95 or above
  • 44% of all grades were A or A+
  • 18% of study scores were over 40
  • Seven students attained ATARs over 99
  • Year 11 - 43% scored over 40 in a Unit 3/4 subject.

Outstanding Sporting Success

Mentone Grammar has a rich history of sporting success, through our participation in the AGSV and APS program. 

In 2017, we have claimed the premierships for;

  • AGSV Boys Swimming (Fourth consecutive premiership)
  • AGSV Girls Swimming (Fourth consecutive premiership) 
  • AGSV Cricket 
  • Girls Touch Rugby
  • Sailing Division 2 Trophy

Outstanding Creativity

Mentone Grammar has an established reputation in the arts, and during the 2016/2017 period, we have had;

  • Two students in the 2017 Top Arts Exhibition at National Gallery Victoria
  • Four students in the 2017 VCE Season of Excellence, two for VCE Drama and two for VCE Dance
